Your HVAC unit typically uses more energy than any other single appliance in your home. Properly installed and maintained, high-efficiency heat pumps save energy year round.
Your HVAC "system" is made up of your HVAC unit(s) and your ductwork. Santee Cooper customers may be eligible to receive rebates for the following measures relating to your heat pump system:
$300 each for new 15 S.E.E.R. heat pumps with quality installation form (maximum 2)
$50 maximum for an existing heat pump tune-up (maximum 2)
50% of the cost of duct testing and sealing, up to $200* (maximum 2)
Santee Cooper customers may be eligible to receive a $300 rebate for replacing your old HVAC units with new, high-efficiency 15 SEER heat pumps with a quality installation form. You may receive a maximum of two (2) heat pump rebates per residence, totaling $600. With this option, you can apply for financing with a low-interest Smart Energy Loan from Santee Cooper.
Heat Pump Tune-up Rebate
Rebate Amount: $50 (maximum: 2)
To operate efficiently, your heat pump needs regular maintenance, just like your car needs tune-ups. Santee Cooper offers a rebate of up to $50 toward having a professional Santee Cooper Residential Trade Ally tune-up your existing heat pump unit and provide documentation as outlined on a Santee Cooper HVAC Tune-Up Form.
Duct Testing and Sealing Rebate
Rebate Amount: 50% of cost, up to $200 (maximum: 2)
According to the EPA, in a typical house with forced-air heating and cooling, about 20% of the air that moves through the duct system is lost due to leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts. The result is higher bills and difficulty keeping the house comfortable, no matter how the thermostat is set.
*Santee Cooper is offering a rebate of 50% of the cost up to $200 to seal your leaky ducts and make your home more energy-efficient year round.
To qualify, a Santee Cooper Residential Trade Ally's service technician must perform and provide documentation of proper duct testing and sealing as outlined on the Duct Testing and Sealing Form.
